A little backstory: Before starting this blog, last month I happened to have a churro at Disneyland and later some at Moreno's, a longtime restaurant in Orange. These simple joys led me to the "Ah-ha" moment to evolve from an occasional churro consumer to a churro enthusiast with the goal of becoming the world's leading expert in churros. Baby steps, right?
Last night I had ocasion to revist Moreno's and sample their churros again. And once again, I was pleased. The churros were hot all the way through, had good crunch but were soft in the middle. It came with chocolate and caramel dipping sauces and left cinnamon and sugar all over the table. Very consistent and exactly like the last time I was here.
This, however, is where I start to wonder about things. Are they too consistent? For example, they are all very straight and even in length - did they come from a factory somewhere? (This is also my suspicion with Disneyland.) And should that matter? Part of me thinks so. But part of me worries that knowing too much could impair my enjoyment of things that are otherwise very pleasing. In the end, I have concluded that I will have to know. This is, after all, Churrology which means science comes first.
